Hebrews 10:19-25

The Veil Was Torn

19 Therefore, brothers, since we have boldness to enter the sanctuary through the blood of Jesus, 20 by a new and living way He has opened for us through the curtain (that is, His flesh), 21 and since we have a great high priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed in pure water. 23 Let us hold on to the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. 24 And let us be concerned about one another in order to promote love and good works, 25 not staying away from our worship meetings, as some habitually do, but encouraging each other, and all the more as you see the day drawing near.

This bold passage of encouragement happens to be one of my most favorite passages in the entire Bible. One can feel the excitement that comes from the living hope in Jesus Christ. I am forever grateful for this direct path to the Father through the blood of Jesus. This passage makes it very clear that we no longer have to live in fear. I would venture to say that on the Day of Atonement the high priest entered the Holy of Holies with some level of anxiety-asking himself, “Did I do all that was required to ensure that I do not die?” However, we are blessed to enter directly into God’s presence with a boldness by the blood of Jesus.

The veil no longer exists! Praise God for setting forth His eternal plan of salvation to bring the lost back into perfect relationship. Our high priest, Jesus Christ alone, will forever reign over the heavenly courts to ensure our access to the Father.

David Guzik, commentator, states it well when he said, “The problem of access to God has been settled. The problem of a perfect High Priest has been settled. The problem of moral and spiritual pollution has been settled. So now, let us draw near!”

The question then remains: What is keeping you from drawing near? It bears repeating: Access to God has been settled. The perfect High Priest has been settled. Moral and spiritual pollution have been settled-so draw near!

The evil one seeks to steal, kill, and destroy. Rebuke him in the name of Jesus. All things evil are not welcome in your life. Claim the victory through the power of Jesus granted through the atoning blood of His perfect sacrifice. Today, we walk boldly into the Holy of Holies in prayerful humility and thankfulness claiming what is rightfully ours by the gifting of Father God through Jesus His Son.

Question: What is keeping you from fully encountering the presence of God and walking boldly into the Holy of Holies?

Thankful,

Christian Armetta
