Psalm 18:2 “The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer, my God, my mountain where I seek refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.”
…and the winds and waves obey Him – My Deliverer.
…in a brief, yet terrifying, moment of weakness, Peter slips into the sea; however, He saves! – My Deliverer.
I choose to believe that My Deliverer commands all of us to walk out in faith, throughout the day, in varying tasks that challenge our faith. Do we identify with Peter who stepped out in faith yet took his eyes off his target and began to sink? Do we identify with the disciples in the boat who were frightened?
This passage, along with many others, quickly reminds me to keep my eyes “on the cross” avoiding any temptation to glance away at the fiery arrows as I hear them draw near.
What a powerful image of My Deliverer, with such ease, saving Peter from the depths of the sea. With a simple grasps, He saves, despite our lack of faith.
I have been challenged in many ways to stretch, to trust, to learn, to grow in my faith and salvation. I will share these stories and lessons as God leads and calls. I could not find a more fitting title to this page and this very first thought as My Deliverer. He delivers us from the consequences of sin by accepting Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. He delivers us from the evils of this world by trusting in His Word. He delivers us from the demons that chain us down. He delivers us from the perils of this life with a hope of a life to come…the very One who came to set the captives free.
Thankful,
