1 Chronicles 16:23-30

“23 Sing to the Lord, all the earth. Proclaim His salvation from day to day. 24 Declare His glory among the nations, His wonderful works among all peoples. 25 For the Lord is great and highly praised; He is feared above all gods. 26 For all the gods of the peoples are idols, but the Lord made the heavens. 27 Splendor and majesty are before Him; strength and joy are in His place. 28 Ascribe to the Lord, families of the peoples, ascribe to the Lord glory and strength. 29 Ascribe to Yahweh the glory of His name; bring an offering and come before Him. Worship the Lord in the splendor of His holiness; 30 tremble before Him, all the earth.”

1 Chronicles 16-25

David delivered this sweet message to thank the Lord for bringing the ark of the covenant to Jerusalem. David was known for being a courageous warrior, poet, musician, and a man after God’s own heart.  This passage is rich with praise and takes us outside of ourselves and into the presence of Holy God through the power of worship and adoration to our Maker and King.

The freedom we receive through salvation in Jesus Christ is worth proclaiming every day. David reminds us to proclaim this faith daily and to declare His glory among the nations. One of Satan’s biggest weapons is a quiet Christian! If we truly understand the free gift of salvation and the freedom obtained through Christ alone, then nothing should stop us from declaring God’s goodness and glory. The Lord is worthy of praise and He is above all things.

I am afraid that many of us have become too quiet as we fail to give God the praise and glory He deserve on a daily basis. What has caused this quietness within us? False gods and idols? One might say, “I don’t worship golden statues so that doesn’t apply to me.” However, anything that replaces the one true God is an idol in your life – money, work, pride, home, car, security, sports, etc. David reminds us that God made the heavens and earth and nothing comes before Him!

I pray that we seek God daily, all day, praying without ceasing to where we yearn for all of Him in our lives. He exemplifies perfect strength and power – even the rocks cry out. The whole earth trembles before Holy God because nothing is greater. I am forever amazed that the Lord of Heaven’s Armies wants to share eternity with me – His creation. I pray that you seek His face today and fall to your knees in humble praise to the one true God.

Thankful,

Christian Armetta
